How to Take Cuttings from a Rose

  1. Find a stem from the plant without a flower on.
  2. Use secateurs to cut just under a leaf node.
  3. You want your cutting to be about 1 foot long maybe a bit more.
  4. Remove all of the leaves except the ones at the top.
  5. Now dig a trench in your garden where you want to plant the rose bush.
  6. Pop the cutting into the trench, burying 4-5 inches of the stem.
  7. Cover over with soil and water thoroughly.
  8. Keep an eye on them and you will soon see growth.
