Christmas Cabbage

Ingredients:

  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 apples, sliced
  • 1 red cabbage, shredded
  • 1 tsp five spice
  • 1 tsp ground Nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp White wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Mango chutney
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Balsamic
  • Salt + Pepper, to taste

Method:

  1. Fry off the onion until soft, once the onion is soft add the garlic and cook for a further 1 minute.
  2. Add the cabbage and apple, and cook with a lid on so it gradually softens.
  3. Add in the five spice, ground nutmeg, white wine vinegar, mango chutney, soy sauce and balsamic vinegar.
  4. Stir all together and leave on the heat until softened.
  5. Once the cabbage is cooked through, give it a taste and season well.
