Buttercream Icing – Many flavours

For Vanilla Buttercream

  • 400g icing sugar
  • 225g margarine/butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Coffee Buttercream

  • 400g icing sugar
  • 225g margarine/butter
  • 2 tsp instant coffee, dissolved into 1 tsp boiling water

For Chocolate Buttercream

  • 400g icing sugar
  • 225g margarine/butter
  • 1 tbsp Nutella or 50g coco powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or 2 tsp instant coffee, dissolved into 1 tsp boiling water (optional)

Method:

For all flavours, simply…

  1. Sieve the icing sugar into a bowl.
  2. Add in the butter and flavouring (ie. vanilla, coffee etc)
  3. And give it a good mix with your handheld mixer until smooth and creamy!
