its all ev scone recipe super easy baking for the family

Ingredients:

  • 450g self-raising flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 225ml milk
  • 1 egg
  • 75g caster sugar
  • 75g sultanas

Pre-heat oven on 220c

Method:

  1. Line a baking tray with baking parchment.
  2. Mix together the flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Rub in the butter until it resembles breadcrumbs. 
  4. Stir in the sugar and sultanas. 
  5. Mix the milk and egg together and pour 2/3 of it into the mixture and bring together adding more until you reach the desired texture. 
  6. Once you have reached the desired texture, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and knead briefly.
  7. Roll the dough out until it is about 1cm in thickness, and cut out your scones. This mixture should make about 12, depending on the size cutter you use. 
  8. Place the scones on the lined baking tray and brush the tops lightly with the remaining egg and milk mixture. 
  9. Bake on the middle shelf of the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown. 
  10. Serve with Clotted cream, Jam and a nice cuppa.
