Hummus

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of chickpeas (200/240g)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp lazy garlic (2 garlic cloves)
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • Salt
  • 4 tbsp water
  • a drizzle of olive oil
  • a dusting of ground paprika

Method:

  1. Drain and rinse off the chickpeas, place a few chickpeas to one side to put on top of the hummus at the end.
  2. In your food processor (or a bowl in my case) place the chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, salt and water.
  3. Blitz (with your hand blender, if you don’t have a food processor) until it becomes a smooth puree. 
  4. Taste the hummus and add more of anything you think it needs.
  5. Put the hummus in a serving dish, drizzle over some olive oil, sprinkle with paprika and the few chickpeas you put to one side.

Serve with warm pitta breads and enjoy!
