Slow-Cooker Beef Stew

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg stewing beef
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 onions, finely diced
  • 3 potatoes, diced
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1-2 pints beef stock
  • 300ml red wine (optional)
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • salt and pepper to season
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • mushrooms (optional)

Method:

  1. Place all ingredients into the slow-cooker and cook on high for 8 – 10 hours. (this cooking time may vary depending on your cooker, mine takes 10 hours on high)
  2. 30 minutes before it is done, make some dumplings.
